Finding Joy: A Mongolian Woman’s Journey to Christ
In the summer of 2019, I spent three weeks in Ulaanbaatar learning and writing down the life story of one of the most talented young women in Mongolia today. Yanjmaa Jutmaan’s doctorate in applied mathematics from the University of North Carolina/Charlotte only hints at her many abilities. She’s been a government consultant on sustainable development, statistics, information technology and data safety. In 2015, she was named one of Mongolia’s top “under 40” leaders, due to her being named as the first female chancellor of a state university in Mongolia. Currently, she’s teaching at UNCC and spearheading an international ministry among Mongolians who tune into her popular Mongolian-language Bible studies and podcasts. She is also advising pastors and other ministry leaders in Mongolia. Here is her fascinating life story.
